On the 6 mobile networks in Africa that are using the Message Optimizer (the platform on which eTXTs are processed), ForgetMeNotAfrica is processing millions of eTXTs a day. Currently, the messaging system is in use by Safaricom, Yu (both in Kenya), Glo (Nigeria), Warid (Congo Brazzaville) and Econet (Lesotho & Zimbabwe). The Message Optimizer core system infrastructure is in Hong Kong and London.
An eTXT is a message which can be sent and received seamlessly as an SMS, an email or chat message on any mobile operator’s network via SMS.
ForgetMeNot Africa Ltd. is a “software as a service” (SaaS) company specialising in unified messaging that supports interoperability between SMS, email and Instant Messaging clients for telecommunications operators. A ForgetMeNot Africa core product, the Message Optimiser, was recently implemented on the Econet network in Zimbabwe.
