EMC Corporation was founded in 1979 by Richard Egan and Roger Marino – the ‘E’ stands for Egan while the ‘M’ for Marino and the C is believed to belong to an unknown founder. The company’s founders raised seed funding by earning commissions off selling desks. Upon raising their targeted amount they set about on a journey that has led to the following achievements among others:
