Where previously an EcoCash user had a daily spending limit of US $500, the amount has been increased to $1,000. The new daily spending limit is inclusive of all financial transactions except cashing-in – depositing money into one’s own account. The monthly transaction limit, which was $2,000, has been increased to $3,000.
The changes come as Econet rolls out its new merchant services. The merchant to merchant daily and monthly limits are $5,000 and $10,000 respectively.
