And here is a press release announcing Telecel’s mega promo bonus opening up to other networks:
Telecel prepaid customers can now make calls for double the value of the airtime they purchase, regardless of who they are calling, as long as the call is a local call.
The Mega Bonus Reloaded Promotion gives customers a bonus dollar’s airtime, valid for four days, for every dollar’s worth of airtime loaded.
This latest promotion from Telecel extends to all networks the use of bonus airtime, which in the Mega Juice and Mega Magic promotions had been limited to calls to other Telecel numbers.
Telecel’s one dollar Mega Juice card, offering bonus airtime for calls to other Telecel numbers, was introduced in March 2010, soon after Telecel had drastically brought down the cost of SIM cards.
Late last year Telecel launched the Mega Magic Promotion, which extended the 100 percent bonus that customers obtained when using the one dollar Mega Juice card, to all Telecel airtime scratch cards or vouchers. Still, the bonus airtime was restricted to use for calls to other Telecel numbers.
This is the first time that Telecel has provided bonus airtime with any recharge card or voucher purchased that can be used for calls to any mobile network and to landlines as well.
In the same promotion, subscribers that buy, register and activate their new Telecel lines will also get a welcome credit of 50 cents and 200 bonus SMSs that can be sent to any local network. These benefits are valid for 30 days.
Telecel Zimbabwe Marketing Director Octivius Kahiya said the Mega Bonus Reloaded Promotion was the latest of a number of promotions designed to provide customers with added value for money.
“We have responded to the huge popularity of Mega Juice and extended the bonus value across all the networks as well as fixed landlines.
“This unprecedented value we have created for our subscribers should significantly lower the overall cost of connecting with other people while using their mobile phone.
“We hope that both new and old subscribers will take advantage of the exciting opportunity this promotion offers them to make even greater use of their mobile phones,” he said.
Mr Kahiya added that Telecel believes providing value for money products and services will not only benefit its subscribers but the nation’s economy as a whole.
Telecel General Manager Mrs Angeline Vere commented further, “Telecel firmly believes that creating value for money by reducing the costs of voice and data will, in the long run, create value not only for our entire subscriber base but also for us as a sustainable local business and for the local economy.
“Our track record in helping reduce the cost of mobile communication services and products is well documented. Telecel hopes to continue that legacy by continuing to innovate and provide high quality products and services that are affordable,” she said.
