Telecel Marketing Director, Octivious Kahiya, announcing the new Telecel Business product

Telecel today just announced the launch of a new product targeted at its corporate customers called Telecel Business. The product looks very much like a variation of Telecel Red and we are told they basically tweaked it to make it more suitable for the businesses. Like Telecel Red, Business has Business 30, Business 60 and Business 150. Unlike Red however, they also have an entry level Business 15 package, so 4 packages in total.

According to Octivious Kahiya at the announcement today the company has crafted the product according to the needs of business users that they have gathered since launching Telecel Red earlier this year. The main difference between the two products, he said, is that companies will be able to managed all their accounts centrally as a business. Telecel Business also has a Closed User Group (CUG) feature where users of the service in a business can call other people in the company “virtually for free”. See below the packages below:

      you are definately an EWZ person. Lets see, I get 3000minutes to anyone i work with. 1000minutes to other telecel people, 1000 to any network in zim. 100minutes to call my relatives in the USA 1000sms anywhere in the world and 1gb of data. Lets do the maths 1000 minutes to netone at 20c a minute would cost me 200usd. Plus 1000sms at 8c so thats 80usd plus 100 international minutes lets call that 20usd not sure about the tarrifs and finally 1GB. This my friend is a bargain anyway you look at it.. what i would normally pay more than 300dollars for i am getting for sub 200. I am in. My only comment is let me scale the units i.e reduce the sms’s, international and other calls and put more data for instance.

        Let me repeat this, One hundred & Seventy Five For One Gig.

        @Econet you get 2500 gigs for $50, thats 7500gigs plus $25 of talktime & 50cents for sms.lol

          Muti, come on! $175 for 1Gb plus all the other things. But that said if you were to juice 175 on telelcel, you would get $175 mega bonus (which calls all networks) and then you could get 3 x 1Gb bundles which translate to $135, but remember telecel gives you double so now you have 6Gb data. $175 talk time and $40 spare. So in which case i would use that to subscribe to Telecel Red 30 which would give me another $30 bonus on voice, data and sms. another 60Mb free data and unlimited calls to another telecel number. Which is way better than what econet can do right now. Lets face the facts. Telecel has little overheads, EWZ supports Steward Bank, LTZ, Ecocash and ZOL. This is the reason why EWZ can not spend as much on marketing gimmicks like Telecel. Now dont get me wrong, if money was not an object I would never ever have any reason not to use EWZ, i use their 4G WiMAX, I am testing their LTE and I am a die hard supporter of their UMTS platform. But when it comes to the earn vs burn rate on EWZ at times its just not reasonable. I will easily sacrifice performance for $$$. As you can see I also like to talk a lot so the free minutes i get from telecel and net one are really really helpful.

      yeh…WTF?? This is too expensive! Instead of them taclkling the Econet facebook data bundles they introduce some lame service that competes with telecel red adding confusion to the market…..
