Webdev have announced the launch on an online property portal called property.co.zw to connect real estate buyers and sellers. The company that’s also behind Zimbabwe’s largest online classifieds, classifieds.co.zw says this new website does not necessarily signify a move back to classifieds verticals but a mere response to the need for specialised functionality for property sector portals.
Responding to questions from Techzim, Webdev Managing Director, Garth Drummond said property.co.zw has been added “as a specific property portal to really focus on the needs of estate agents, buyers, sellers, tenants and landlords”.
On the front end, users can search for property by sale, rental, category, reference number, one or more towns and suburbs, bedrooms, bathrooms, garages, staff quarters, minimum and maximum price, general, outdoor and indoor features and amenities, size of land, buildings, office, shop and warehouse space, repossessed, auction, and properties with pictures only.
Real estate agents that list on the site will have their listing published on classified.co.zw and will also get an option to have a custom property website. The revenue model is similar to classifieds where real estate agents pay a monthly subscription to list. Unlike the classifieds site though, property.co.zw doesn’t yet support individual posting. So far we counted a total of 38 real estate agents that are subscribed to the site.
Webdev already manages PropCloud (the platform the service is based on) based property portals for individual real estate agents like Kennan Properties, Pam Golding Zimbabwe and Page Properties which all have a striking similarity to property.co.zw (including favicons). This obviously suggests that Webdev has replicated the store front model from classifieds.co.zw to this vertical.

I wonder why there are no comments. This is really beautiful, property sector is too huge and lucrative to be embedded in other sites
