So finally Facebook finally decided to do away with an email service they forced on people, but people never used anyway. The email service which is based on your Facebook username (e.g: tendai.mupaso@facebook.com) was introduced back in 2010 then made “compulsory” for Facebook users in 2012.
The @facebook.com emails became the publicly displayed emails instead of the users preferred email.
When the @facebook emails were introduced I honestly thought they would offer some great competition for Email in general and Gmail in particular. But as it seems now, Google never felt even the slightest pinch. If anything, this has shown that your primary email is hard to replace or infact, irreplaceable.
Zuck and gang were correct in saying that teens didn’t find email cool anymore, but teens grow up and almost everyone needs email for formal communication, which they thought they could disrupt with this informal version of email.
Obviously no one will lose sleep over this but note that the changes will take effect in March. However, you can remove your @facebook email now by simply adjusting the contact settings on your timeline. My timeline is already displaying tendaimupaso@gmail.com – my preferred primary email address.

Hello would you mind sharing which blog platform you’re working with?
I’m going to start my own blog soon but I’m having a tough
time selecting between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal.
The reason I ask is because your design and style seems different then most blogs and I’m looking for something completely
unique. P.S My apologies for getting off-topic but I had to ask!
