Tel•One will this year be sponsoring the second edition of the Zimbabwe Broadband Forum which begins tomorrow (Friday, 6 June) at the Sango Conference Centre, Cresta Lodge, Harare. The country’s largest fixed line provider has chosen to be a Platinum Sponsor at this year’s Forum where the agenda will be focused on “Unpacking the Broadband Opportunity”.

Tel•One will also be sponsoring live streaming of the event which will ensure that the deliberations at the event will reach local and internationals enthusiasts who would have failed to attend the conference.

Speaking to Techzim on their involvement, Tel•One’s Sales and Marketing Director Mr Joseph Machiva expressed delight to be a partnering in hosting the Broadband Forum

“Over the past few years, Tel One has worked tirelessly to increase broadband connectivity and quality in Zimbabwe. The Broadband Forum pursues this agenda and we are delighted to be the Platinum sponsor to this event,” he said.

Techzim’s founder Limbikani Makani also expressed great excitement with working with Tel•One and called it a “breeze”.

“Preparations for this year’s edition have been smooth flowing and we have to give credit to sponsors like Tel•One for assisting in wanting to clarify the opportunity that connectivity will release here in Zimbabwe over the next couple of years.

“All indications are pointing to a sold out event and that’s largely because little time was spent negotiating with our platinum sponsor, and more in actually putting everything together for the event,” he said.

Mr Machiva, who is also part of an impressive cast of speakers for the Broadband Forum said he is also relishing the opportunity to address some of the bottlenecks in broadband service delivery and how Tel One has already begun correcting these with services like Ka band satellite and their ADSL Broadband packages.

“As Tel•One, we have always been mindful of the gaps as far as broadband service delivery is concerned. Our experience over the years has shown that there are indeed great opportunities in the broadband space, not only for the service providers but for entrepreneurs and we will be sharing these opportunities at the Broadband Forum”.

“Over the year, Tel•One  has launched affordable products like the new Ka band VSAT service and our ADSL Broadband packages to give more people access to the internet at an affordable price and reliable,” he said.

The Broadband Forum is an annual event that brings together ISP, MNOs and other players in the technology eco-system for the common good of increase to access, quality and exploring opportunities around broadband.
