While every year there is an exchange of thoughts and an unboxing of ideas that promote engagement between the public sector and every other stakeholder in local tech, this year, the main focus has been the promotion of tech for development. This theme was reflected in the different presentations made today.
Some of these presentations made by the various speakers signed up for today included:
- Promoting Innovative technology for Development – Ms Tumelo (ITU Area Office Representative for Southern Africa)
- Delivering Public Value Through Co-Creation in e-Government – Mr Alex Marufu (Group Chief Operating Officer, Twenty Third Century Systems)
- Innovative Pedagogic Possibilities In a Networked Environment Through ICTs Adoption – Prof. G. Kabanda (Pro Vice Chancellor, Zimbabwe Open University)
- A Closer Look at the Participation of Young Women In Technology Innovation – Rumbidzai Mlambo (Techwomen)
- Success Stories in Technology: Business Incubation Programme – Taps Murove, Takunda Chingonzo (Neolabs), Tommy Deuschle (Emerging Ideas)
eTech Africa ends tomorrow with a road map for the finalisation of the National ICT Policy Framework. This will include feedback and contributions from the different people who will be present tomorrow.
The proceedings will be led by the Minister of ICT Supa Mandiwanzira. This is a key pillar of this year’s conference, largely due to the overwhelming demand for a completed ICT Policy from different stakeholders.
