Facebook publishes latest quarterly results showing $4,5 billion revenue, 1 billion daily users

Facebook, the world’s largest social network recently published a strong set of financial results for the quarter ended September 30, 2015 which gave further indication of the company’s growth and increasing earnings and potential.

A net income of $1,628 billion was registered for the quarter. Its total revenue for the period stood at $4,501 billion, up from $3,203 billion in the same period last year.

For the latest quarter, 78% of this revenue has been attributed to mobile advertising, having gained from the 66% contribution made in the same period last year. This further cementing Facebook’s firm footing as a mobile platform beyond everything else.

1,01 billion daily average users were registered for the month of September 2015, indicating a year on year increase of 17%. Facebook first broke the 1 billion monthly user barrier towards the end of August this year.

Currently its Mobile Daily Average Users total 894 million and MAUs were 1.55 billion as of September 30, 2015, with these metrics respectively indicating a 27% and 14% average year on year increase. Mobile Monthly Active Users (MAUs) were 1.39 billion as of September 30, 2015 showing an increase of 23% year-over-year and MAUs were 1.55 billion as of September 30, 2015.

This steady growth has been supported by Facebook’s focus on emerging markets such as India, and also in Africa, where Facebook registered a clearer presence with offices opened this year.

Facebook also plans to offer internet services to the continent via satellite. The African continent now accounts for 120 million active monthly users of the social network, with 80% of users accessing it through mobile devices.
