Zimbabwe’s biggest fixed telephone operator TelOne has been pretty busy lately churning out new developments like a bottling factory.
A recent update sees TelOne teasing a new product launch under the title “TELONES NEXT BIG THING” to be unveiled today Tuesday 25 October 2016.
This could be the home bred chat service app dubbed Talk Plus. According to the talk plus website this application is capable of operating on multiple devices at once and keep you connected with the rest of the world whether you are online or offline.
The offline aspect is what I see as the big takeaway here, where a subscriber of the service is provided with a virtual number to which they can be contacted with even if their calling party is offline, just like a normal telephone call.
Other features are Skype integration where you can receive and make Skype calls natively in the Talk Plus app. we have seen this app in an app feature on WeChat, it would be interesting to find out how it fares out in Talk Plus.
Here is a list of the services Talk plus is offering.
- Multi-ring
- Call forwarding
- Persistent Chat
- Call recording
- Diaspora calling
- Conference call +
- Talk + virtual number
- Talk + presence indicator
- Talk + free calling circle
- Simultaneous ring feature
Recently Telone has launched a mobile application, revamped its website, launched a Degree Programme in partnership with NUST and will be hosting a graduation ceremony for its Integrated Telecommunications Diploma on the 25th of November 2016.

@Macd Chip, are you asking the question. Where are the emperor’s new clothes?
