These new statistic show that WhatsApp is now easily one of the biggest mobile ‘network’ operators in the world. Most forward looking mobile operators have however already accepted the inevitability of people using apps for calls instead of the traditional voice calls.
Most, especially in Africa countries like Zimbabwe, now offer WhatsApp bundles to encourage the use of WhatsApp. They’d rather have their subscribers using their network to make WhatsApp calls than use a competitor’s.
