Current Zantel Chief Commercial Officer Norman Moyo, has received a Global Telecoms Business (GTB) Forty under Forty award. The awards recognise the telecoms industry’s young leaders of today and the leaders of tomorrow. The young leaders are selected from those nominated by worldwide readers of the Global Telecoms Business magazine, a renowned telecoms focused magazine.
A Zimbabwean, Norman Moyo has held senior positions at Econet Wireless Zimbabwe, Celtel Zambia and Celtel Nigeria. He also worked of Zain in Tanzania before joining Zantel.
According to the information we received on Moyo’s achievements as a young leader in telecoms, he masterminded the reinvention and strategic positioning of Zantel as the leading data service provider in Zanzibar. Through his leadership, Zantel was positioned as the most innovative and inspirational brand for the youth and High Value customers.
Zantel is a Tanzanian mobile operator owned by Emirates Telecommunications Corporation (ETISALAT).
We got in touch with Moyo to discuss the GTB Forty under Forty recognition. He had to this to say:
The award was a great honor and great testimony to positive outcome one gets when you work hard, focus on delivering the numbers, growing people in different organisations. Zimbabwean managers are some of the highest rated managers in Africa and Middle East mostly due to their high ethics, dedication, commitment and a culture of delivery to promise. I feel such an international award is one of the ways we as Zimbabweans can celebrate these accolades we receive beyond our borders
