The website belong to ZESA holding subsidiary, ZESA Enterprises, has been defaced. We’re not sure exactly when the defacement happened but visiting the site right now shows the page below. From what we can tell the website is hosted internally within the group’s infrastructure.
We also noticing, the besides zesaenterprises.co.zw, the ZESA Enterprises also has a site on zent.co.zw, which right now is just a holding page.
The website is one of the several websites belonging to Zimbabwean companies in the past several months to be hacked. Some high profile websites include AMH websites, bank websites, government websites and others.
Besides ZESA Enterprises, the ZESA holdings group is also the parent company of the national power company, Powertel,
For interest’s sake, what is the explanation of all this???
Ugly websites (that look like a 2002 archive) should be hacked!!! Maybe they will see the light after this.
jumula
That explains the power cuts. ZESA has been compromised 🙂
haha
hahaha :’D
Poor Security Governance and culture at the top rolls down to poor ICT infrastructure and network security designs coupled with the worst and dullest coding practices. Zim companies will continue to loose vital intellectual info via these hacks. its time for a culture change.
Weve seen these before. Script driven, automated hacks. No direct motive behind it.
We’ve commented lots on these events. They get exactly what they give into their website… trash. Depending on the vector of attack, its probably better that they have static websites if they can’t handle the responsibility of a dynamic one.
I could almost say they deserve It
