The collaboration with international entrepreneurs is expected to help African entrepreneurs sharpen their skills whilst at the same time help the international team understand African markets better. Participants will be 50% programmers, 25% designers and 25% business developers focused on the areas Mobile, Healthcare and Energy.

It’s pleasing to note that local companies have come to the party by sponsoring the Startup Bus African road trip. Econet has pitched with a reported $10,000 cash package whilst Muzinda-Uzinda Hub and Mukuru.com has sponsored some local participants. Imba Matombo are the local accommodation sponsors.

Startupbus is a program run by volunteer entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs. It is now well established in the US and Europe. The first Startup Bus toured in 2009 in the US. You can apply for next year’s trip here.
