Liquid Increases Fibre Internet Speeds

Liquid Fibre Increase Announcement

Zimbabwe’s largest fibre internet provider, Liquid, has just announced speed increases for its unlimited data fibre packages.

The lowest priced package, a US $169 package called “Infinity” which was on 150Mbps will go up to 1000Mbps. The other package, called “Family Entertainment” is priced at US $226 will go up from 100Mbps to 300Mbps.

Said Liquid in its announcement:

Starting this Friday, Fast Just Became Faster!

We are delighted to announce new speeds for our packages! Enjoy lightning-fast internet with all our FibroniX packages, which are perfect for all your work, gaming, and entertainment needs.

If you’re wondering why they package with the lower price is getting a higher speed boost, here’s the probable reason from what we understand:

Those infinity prices are promotional and anyone using a regular packages such as “Family Entertainment” can choose to go onto the promotional prices. We still don’t quite understand why the promotional pricing is not automatic for customers paying more, and we’ll update as soon as we do.

That $226 price is also probably high because the company got approval to increase local currency tariff’s recently. When they increase local currency prices, all operators in Zimbabwe price in an exchange rate run-away buffer. The expectation is that the USD price eventually settle to an amount much lower. The gymnastics of doing business in Zimbabwe.

Following Starlink’s entry into the market, the company has made some effort to stay competitive. With Starlink now at capacity and not able to take on more customers in Harare and surrounding areas, Liquid has had a make services even more appealing to its customers so they don’t get any ideas about leaving once Starlink can take more customers.

Crazy 🤪 prices. Crazy new taxes. Hurry up Starlink only you can save us!

  3. No to fibre

Starlink still a lucrative oprion with those rip-off price tags eFibre.

These folks don’t want to lose those rich clients in the northern and eastern suburbs of Harare and others all over Zimbabwe.

The 1000mbs is not for many customers when your service providers are limiting to 10Kbs! Even for businesses how many data centres are sending you data at 1000Mbs!

My sd card says data transfers up to 170mbs but the best speeds I get is 20mMbs for videos. For internet the best speed I get is when Internet Archive drops a 350Mb file in less than a second!

Well done to Liquid. These are great packages for middle income bracket. Now please consider coming up with something for the ordinary person in the street. Lack of truly affordable data is stifling growth of ecomerce.

The increase in fiber internet speeds is a fantastic development! Faster and more reliable internet not only enhances personal connectivity but also has a profound impact on businesses and digital services.

For instance, improved speeds can significantly benefit platforms offering essential online resources, such as those simplifying travel and visa-related processes. If anyone is dealing with visa-related concerns, I’ve found Qatar Visa Check to be a helpful resource for accessing accurate and updated information.

Excited to see how this upgrade influences productivity and digital adoption across various sectors!

They will only increase speeds on paper. But in reality you will still 3xperience low annoying connectivity

They are very right, their packages are MAD!!

Yip, I pushing a gig on my link. I’m on the 169 unlimited package.
But the gig speeds will only work when you are connected on cable or using the a better wifi Access Point. The default White Huawei Wifi feature that comes with the Zol connection is shyde!! Absolute garbage!!! . Connect on the ethernet port on that Huawei router to your computer or to a better performimg access point to get those speeds.

Liquid is fast but unstable. It’s fine if you’re streaming however, if you into anything like competitive gaming you suffer horrendously. Fibre is supposed to have a stable ping, unfortunately with Liquid that is rarely the case. When Techzim does it’s tests, I think you should consider including gaming performance. Something like COD Mobile and PUBG, “Ranked” matches mind you bot lobbies almost have no issues.
