Samsung saw the success of the S24 series and decided there was no need to tinker with a winning formula.
I have come to terms with it, there won’t be any drastic upgrades or improvements from the biggest smartphone manufacturers any more.
As a result, I now like these iterative updates we are getting. There are always smaller brands that are trying to push the envelope if the big guns feel too stale.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 series brings updates that don’t look impressive on paper. The only meaningful upgrade is to the processor. Which is not that exciting because it’s not like the S24 was a slouch.
Very few will actually benefit from the beefier processor in day to day use. However, that’s assuming people would be upgrading from the S24.
In reality, most people who upgrade to the S25 will be coming from the S22 or something. These users will be blown away by the new devices.
My phone is in its third year and it hasn’t slowed down or given me any reason to upgrade. I am tempted to but I really don’t need to. I probably could use it without fuss for three more years.
Many of you are in the same boat. Which means when you eventually upgrade, you will enjoy these newer devices, even if you don’t care about all the AI stuff they are packed with.
Here’s what the S25 series devices are packing.
