Pixel 9 camera bar separating from phone, makes you appreciate 1-year warranties

I have to say, I’ve never appreciated the extended warranties that Transsion is offering in Zimbabwe. You can get 12 months of worry-free use with some of these devices.

Unfortunately, Google is not giving the same to Pixel users. Which sucks when you hear about some structural problems in the Pixel 9 series.

The Google Pixel 9 Pro camera bar is experiencing separation from the back panel, which can lead to moisture damage.

What’s infuriating is that it is a recurring structural concern since the Pixel 6 series.

On the Pixel 9 Pro, multiple users have reported similar issues, including one case where a customer found their camera lenses fogging due to the separation, despite using a protective case.

Google has reportedly refused to replace affected devices if they are over 90 days old. Which likely means there is a potential design or quality issue that the company has not officially acknowledged.

There are hopes that Google will address these structural flaws in future models, such as the Pixel 10, and possibly offer an extended warranty for the Pixel 9 Pro.

I think Google is not taking as seriously as it should because it has affected only a small number of users. Sucks to be one of those affected.

To mitigate the risk of damage, it is advised to use Google-certified cases or those with ‘Made for Google’ certification from brands like OtterBox and Spigen. A bad case can make or break your Pixel, apparently lol.

I hope they don’t go the exploding Galaxy route if they want to keep on stealing those iPhone users because vapama 1 manje apa ku USA ma cases like these go infront of a judge which makes the whole situation a corporate disaster (bad publicity). Likely they can still win with their Gemini Live and offer it for free fir the next 2 years 😉
