DFA Zimbabwe gets clearance to offer Starlink services

DFA Zimbabwe has been officially authorised by Potraz as a Starlink reseller, enabling the company to offer high-speed satellite internet across Zimbabwe.

It appears the floodgates have burst open and the Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (Potraz) is now clearing companies to offer the service. Frampol also got clearance recently.

This is welcome news, even if it will mostly interest business customers. Individuals are better off going to the Starlink website directly.

However, although this is welcome, it still rubs the wrong way that it took this long for these companies to get clearance. All the while Aura and TelOne had free rein to mop up demand. It is what it is, I guess.

Anyway, here is what DFA have to say about getting the clearance:

DFA Zimbabwe Cleared to Become Authorized Starlink Reseller, Bringing High-Speed Satellite Internet to Businesses

DFA Zimbabwe (Private) Limited today announced that it has been officially recognized as an authorized reseller of Starlink services by the Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (POTRAZ). This designation empowers DFA Zimbabwe to distribute Starlink’s innovative technology, significantly expanding access to reliable and high-speed internet connectivity for businesses across the country.

Bridging the Digital Divide in Zimbabwe

Starlink’s satellite internet constellation offers unparalleled global coverage, reaching even remote and underserved regions.
