ZOL Startup Challenge Frequently Asked Questions

1. How do I enter?
To enter, you just need to submit your application by simply filling a form that gives us details about your startup. You can apply here.

2. When do I enter?
Applications will be open from 8 September to 30 September 2014. All application should be submitted via the web application here. No hard copy or email applications will be considered.

3. Where do I enter?

4. When will finalists be announced?
After applications are submitted, there will be a process to choose the semi finalists which will be announced on 3 October. The semi finalists will pitch on 9 October and Finalists will be announced thereafter.

5. What stage should my ‘startup’ be at when I enter?
Your startup should be at early stage. It should GENERALLY not be more than 3 years.

One

7. Do I need to be in Zimbabwe when submitting my startup idea?
Your startup should be based and serving Zimbabwe. You don’t have to be in Zimbabwe to submit the application but you will be expected to attend events relating to each stage of the competition, should you proceed.

8. How much does it cost to enter?
Free

9. What is a startup?
For the purposes of the ZOL Startup Challenge, a startup is a relatively new, technology enabled business that solves or is looking to solve a problem profitably.

10. Is my application confidential?
The application you submit will remain confidential.

11. Does it cost anything for a startup to participate?
There is no cost enter. The ZOL Startup Challenge is 100% free.

12. Can I enter a tech enabled non-profit?
No. Sorry, this event is currently targeted at FOR PROFIT enterprises
