Local mobile operator Econet has been sending out instructions for disabling its Job Alerts service. All you have to do is to SMS the word STOP to 33170 and you’ll get confirmation of your de-registration. Previously, this hadn’t been possible, despite the fact that each alert cost subscribers 1 cent.
Econet has an SMS Job Alerts service that you can sign up to use on your own, but you can’t unsubscribe from. It has a lot of SMS alerts that actually cost you 1 cent, even after you’ve tried to unsubscribe from it.
