Zimbabweans can now purchase Starlink Mini Kits on installment over 6 or 9 months. The option was introduced recently making it much easier for people to buy the satellite service for as little as $16.67 per month for the Mini Kit. The kit itself is valued at $200
Here are the 2 credit options available:
- Pay for Starlink Mini Kit over 6 months at $25 a month
- Pay for Starlink Mini Kit over 9 months at $16.67 a month
In both cases, you will need to pay a deposit or down payment of $50.
Since Starlink charges a $23 delivery fee, this means the initial payment to get a Starlink Mini Kit comes down from $223 ($200 for the kit + $23 delivery charge) to just $73 ($50 deposit + $23 delivery charge).
Starlink is not charging interest on the credit facility. This is a significant development and one that will allow many Zimbabweans to access the service.
Once the Kit is now in Zimbabwe, one will need to pay the monthly subscription fee of at least $30 a month in addition to the installment. So if you opt for the 9 months option, that will mean a total monthly payment of $46.67 per month. After the 9 months, the payment comes down to just $30 for the internet service.

While Harare, its surrounding towns and parts of Bulawayo remain sold out, Zimbabweans living in other parts of Zimbabwe can still buy Starlink.
- To buy Starlink one has to go to the starlink.com website and click on “order now”.
- The website will then provide space to enter an address and thereafter, a page to complete the order.
You can make payment right on the website using an prepaid Mastercard or Visa. You can get a virtual Mastercard on EcoCash or OMari and make payment. Because of the new installment option, once can just pay $73. There will be some bank charges so it’s best to have about $90 in your EcoCash or preferred prepaid debit card.
If you have relatives in diaspora who have access to a credit card you can also ask them to make the purchase for you using their card.

15% VAT
2.5% POTRAZ USF
To be honest cost of doing business in Zimbabwe is very high. There are so many taxes and levies out of products and so many unions that collect money from employee salaries etc. We can be happy as end consumers but the over-taxing of local businesses has lasting impact because they shall be nothing left to tax
Iwe haikona kunyapa iwe aaa tax kupi hnty starlink yacho iri kuitirwawo izvozvo so wy are they able to offer way better internet at very cheap price. Ma ISP tichaku maa…mi…sai manje.
So with those instalments the kit will cost $150 ,am l right? Cheaper than the cash price. Can someone school me on this,l need it.

We got the msge but our worry is on service availability in Hre and surrounding areas
Can we really talk of Starlink in Zimbabwe referring to Rural areas, Zvasiyaneyi ne Zanu PF?
It does sound well, someone in Shamva, Juru, Murewa, Mvurwi can’t even have access right now
Bring starlink to Hre then we start to buy kits for our parents in rural areas kwete izvi.
Aaaahhh!!
urikumbotii ko nhai iwe? Handiti unotengera varikumusha kwacho ne address ye ikoko? You would then need top roam or something if you buy using a Harare address…chimbopagaya umbotiratidzawo kakungwarira lol
I am in Shamva and you can’t buy a residential kit.Telone is charging $160 the lowest business plan apo Starlink is charging $71
Doesn’t sound well!!
The existing ISPs have to re-evaluate their business models as Starlink is just the tip of the iceberg in this digital space!
I started using the Econet Smartbiz $45 package around October 2024,
However recently they seem to adjusted the bandwidth, its now so slow only good for Whatsapp messaging.
I had thought that this was a very good competing offering from Econet, but now the quality is just off.
Hope something can be done by the Econet team.
Intsead of paying $45 for a capped and slow internet service, we shall be paying $46 for unlimited fast, convenient signal. Thanks Starlink, someone has been stealing from us for far too long.
Experiencing the same it’s so slow and at most times there is no connectivity how frustrating

If capacity is increased, that will now be the death of local ISP’s. No ISP will give you hardware for $73 upfront. This guy gets it.

Hehehe now we are talking. This deal I’m taking without thinking twice.
Have you tried
Where are you located in Harare
Has anyone tried the new Dolphin unlimited package of $50. They are charging $100 upfront for the sim and equipment. They claim that their speeds can go up to 30mb/s.
With Dolphin if you buy limited, you can never know how much data you have used and how many gb you are left with. You call their helpline to get answers of which the team doesn’t respond and it makes it a bad provider for me. You are always forced to go to their offices so that you get answers.
Smartbiz is actually useless
Thought the 87 10mbps would improve my speed, never at all it is worse useless
I bought my kit in Lusaka Jan 2024 now, roaming period has expired. I want to go with it to Lusaka and for a few days and hope it will work. Don’t want to cancel roaming. Can you imagine that it’s still cheaper for me to travel to Lusaka than it is to pay a local isp.
They will be wiped out like ptc mirai muone. Ngaachitiitira ma handsets zvingopera
Hi Techzim. I think it will be worthwhile if you can do a comparison analysis of the existing ISPs and see how they fare against the new comers. It should be an interesting exercise.!!
Im still sticking with ZOL:
My 5G modem compatible with the sim was just 30 bucks.
The sim i got in 2019 (or somewhere there) for just $1 (its non-geo locked).
I buy 10GB for just $4 twice a month which is $8 for 20GB for regular home use.
My internet speeds where i live average 2mbs/s which is enough for streaming, uploading and downloading.
For 20GB at 2.5 mbps per month is more than enough.
For what i do with the internet, im happy with ZOL.
How much data do u actually need (or are you consuming) per term offered (eg for a month) for a certain price by the existing providers? See if it is worth it to make the switch.
This is my opinion and you are entitled to yours as well.
Since its not available in harare and byo at the moment would it be possible to use an address where its available for example you use a Masvingo address for the kit to arrive then bring it to harare. Someone school me on this.
You can not do that. It is geo-locked.
